Sparkly Devil is a glittering collision of sass, class, ass, and over-the-top vaudevillian entertainment. She first cut her rhinestone-encrusted teeth in Detroit's vibrant cultural underground over a decade ago, and quickly became a glittering diamond in the rough, having graced (and disgraced) stages across North America since 2000. Sparkly has competed and performed six times at the prestigious Miss Exotic World Burlesque Pageant in Las Vegas, and has performed at four New York Burlesque Festivals, three Tease-o-Ramas, the Las Vegas Rockaround in Sin City, and countless other shows and festivals across the nation. She's appeared in the LA Weekly, Venus magazine, Juxtapoz magazine, Style Monte Carlo of Monaco, London's The Mirror, CBS News This Morning, and is a featured starlet in the rock 'n' roll burlesque film Broad Daylight. Sparkly was profiled on Comcast's Something Weird series, and was featured in two episodes of the TLC reality series LA Ink. Sparkly relocated to San Francisco in 2007, and continues to perform, create, wreak sparkling havoc, and hatch plans of taking over the world—one rhinestone at a time. She is a founding member of the Hubba Hubba Revue, San Francisco's biggest and wildest burlesque show. "With a range that includes everything from superb comic timing to dramatic performance to combining feather-fans with gangsta rap, Sparkly Devil is one of the most dynamic performers in the burlesque community today." —Jim Sweeney, producer of Hubba Hubba Revue "The awe-inspiring and amaze-inducing Sparkly Devil." -- Jo Boobs "The original bad girl of burlesque." --Penny Starr Jr. Winner of the Golden Pastie Award for "Performer Most Likely to End Up In Bangkok Missing a Kidney"—New York Burlesque Festival, 2009 First Runner Up, Best Burlesque Act—San Francisco Bay Guardian Reader's Poll, 2008 |
